Game 30 Squares Bingo

$0.99

Bingo for square numbers. Draw a card, square it, cover the product. Five in a row wins. Includes the printable 5×5 board.

Description

How it works

Post the square products — 0, 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64, 81, 100 — and have children copy them into their boards, repeating some and skipping others. Draw a card and everyone finds and covers its square. One space per turn, no moving a chip once placed. Five in a row wins. The squares are worth isolating like this: they anchor a lot of later multiplication reasoning, and a child who knows them cold has a scaffold for the facts around them.

What you’ll need

  • The printable Squares Bingo board, or a blank 5×5 grid
  • Counters
  • A deck with kings and jacks removed (ace = 1, queen = 0)

Skills practiced

Square products through 10×10 and quick recall in a group setting.

Grade level

3rd through 5th grade. Swap the products on the board to cover any fact group except the zeros.
