How it works
Spread the cards face up: on one side, pictures of things that come in natural doubles, like the two rows of six eggs in a carton; on the other, the matching equations. Players take turns finding a pair and explaining why it matches. That explanation is the whole activity — saying “six and six is twelve, because there are two rows of six” anchors the fact to something a child can picture later.

Grade level
Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Turn all the cards face down to play it as a memory game, or hand over the pictures alone and ask children to write the equations themselves — older students can write both an addition and a multiplication sentence.
